But not in a good way. The fires began on Wednesday afternoon and quickly burned through underbrush but the worst of it started on Wednesday night. Fires furiosly raced through Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach destroying approximately 70 homes. There are no reports that anyone has been injured however early estimates show 2,500 were evacuated from their homes.
Friday morning reports show the fires to be 50 percent contained.
Barfeoot Resort has opened the Greg Norman Course and the Dye Club golf courses on Friday morning.
Our thoughts are with all of those who have lost their homes and our thanks to the many firefighters who have worked to contain this disaster.
